Terms of Service

These terms govern your access to and use of the CypherGoat website, interface and API. Please read them before using the service.

Last updated: September 8, 2026

  • 1. Nature of the Service:

CypherGoat is a rate comparison and routing interface. We display live quotes from independent third-party exchange providers and pass your instructions to the provider you select.

CypherGoat does not operate an exchange. We do not buy cryptocurrency from users, we do not sell cryptocurrency to users, we do not exchange fiat currency for digital assets, and we do not provide a digital asset exchange, brokerage, transfer or custody service. Every trade is executed by the third-party provider you choose, under that provider's own terms and its own regulatory obligations.

Nothing on this website constitutes legal, financial, investment or tax advice, and it should not be relied on as such in any circumstance.

  • 2. No Custody of Funds:

CypherGoat does not, at any point, take custody of your funds. We do not receive, hold, pool, transmit or control user assets at any stage of a swap. Funds move directly between you and the exchange provider you select. Because we never hold or transmit funds, we are not in a position to screen, freeze, delay or reverse a transaction once it has been submitted to a provider.

  • 3. Eligibility and Prohibited Jurisdictions:

You must be at least 18 years old to use CypherGoat. We do not knowingly provide services to minors.

By using CypherGoat you represent and warrant that you are not a citizen or resident of, and are not located in, any country or territory subject to comprehensive United Nations sanctions, sanctions administered by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), or equivalent measures. You further represent that you are not a person or entity named on any applicable sanctions list, that you are not acting on behalf of any such person or entity, and that your use of the service does not breach any law applicable to you.

Comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions currently include: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine. Additional restrictions apply to Afghanistan, Belarus, Burma (Myanmar), Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Haiti, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Nicaragua, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Venezuela, Yemen and Zimbabwe. This list is maintained for guidance and may not reflect the most recent changes to applicable sanctions programmes. You remain responsible for determining the rules that apply to you.

Deposit and destination addresses identified as sanctioned are refused.

  • 4. Prohibited Uses:

You may use CypherGoat only for lawful purposes. CypherGoat has zero tolerance for use of the service for any illegal purpose. You agree not to use the service:

    • In any way that breaches any applicable national, federal, state, local or international law or regulation.
    • To launder the proceeds of crime, to finance terrorism, or to evade sanctions, export controls or tax obligations.
    • To transact in funds you know or suspect to be derived from criminal activity, fraud, theft, ransomware or the exploitation of another person.
    • To disguise the origin, source, ownership or control of assets in order to defeat a lawful enquiry.
    • To breach, or to attempt to breach, the terms of any third-party provider you reach through CypherGoat.
    • To exploit or harm minors in any way.
    • To impersonate CypherGoat, a member of CypherGoat staff, or any other person or entity.
    • To introduce malicious code, or to gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or any connected system.
    • To use any robot, scraper or automated process to access the service other than through our documented public API.
  • 5. Partner Exchanges and AML Compliance:

The providers listed on CypherGoat are independent businesses responsible for their own regulatory compliance. Providers monitor incoming transactions in order to meet their anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing obligations, and may request identity verification (KYC) where their policies or the law require it. We support our partners in meeting those obligations in full, and we do not assist any user in avoiding them.

Where a provider has published its verification practices, we surface that information on the quote screen so you can make an informed choice about who you transact with. This information is descriptive, is provided by the partner, and cannot be treated as a guarantee. A provider may request verification in any transaction at its discretion or where required by law, regardless of what is displayed. Before transacting you should read the terms of use and privacy policy of the provider you intend to use.

CypherGoat does not execute trades, does not hold funds, and is not in a position to perform transaction screening or customer verification itself. Where a provider requires information from you in order to release funds, that matter is between you and the provider.

  • 6. Third-Party Providers:

CypherGoat facilitates communication with third-party providers. You must understand and accept the risks, terms and privacy policies of any provider you use. CypherGoat bears no responsibility for the actions, omissions, solvency or outcomes of these providers, and links to third-party sites are provided for convenience only.

  • 7. Partner Selection and Ongoing Review:

We carry out due diligence on providers before integrating them and review them on an ongoing basis. We may suspend or remove a provider at any time. Our partner assessment and monitoring process is described in our Compliance and AML Policy.

  • 8. Investment Risks:

Digital assets are volatile and trading them carries risk, including total loss. You are solely responsible for your own decisions. CypherGoat does not provide investment advice or recommendations.

  • 9. Tax Matters:

You are solely responsible for determining and meeting any tax obligations arising from your transactions. CypherGoat does not calculate, withhold or report taxes on your behalf.

  • 10. On-Chain Fees:

On-chain transactions may incur network fees, such as gas fees on Ethereum. These fees are set by the relevant blockchain network, vary with network conditions, and are your responsibility. CypherGoat does not receive them.

  • 11. No Responsibility for Loss:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CypherGoat is not responsible for any loss of funds or assets arising from your use of the service or your dealings with third-party providers. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. You assume full responsibility for your decisions and their outcomes.

  • 12. Enforcement and Investigation of Abuse:

We reserve the right to investigate suspected breaches of these terms, including any breach arising from a transaction you create or submit to a provider. Where we consider it appropriate we may refuse a request, block access to the interface, withhold participation in optional programmes, or take other corrective action, in each case without notice. We may report activity to the relevant authorities where we are required or permitted to do so.

  • 13. Law Enforcement Enquiries:

CypherGoat responds to validly issued legal process served through proper channels, and will cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities. Other requests are considered case by case at our discretion. Enquiries should be sent to compliance@cyphergoat.com. Details of the limited data we hold, and for how long, are set out in our Privacy Policy.

  • 14. Geographic Restrictions:

The service may not be lawfully available in every jurisdiction. We make no representation that the service is appropriate or available for use in any particular location. If you access the service you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local law. Where a competent authority or a partner notifies us through proper channels that a user is circumventing or attempting to circumvent geographic restrictions, we will take the steps needed to comply.

  • 15. Changes to These Terms:

We may revise these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the service after that point means you accept them. Please check this page periodically.

By using CypherGoat you acknowledge and agree to these terms. Questions and concerns can be sent to support@cyphergoat.com, and compliance matters to compliance@cyphergoat.com.
